It is good to be queen!

Today's my birthday! It's been awesome!

It started with my husband making me super awesome crepes with homemade whipped cream. I picked the cinnamon, sugar, and butter kind. Yummmm! Then I played some Wii boxing and ran around the block a few times to get ready for lunch. Before lunch, though, I got to open my presents. I got some cool stuff (an exercise ball, an immersion blender that matches my other red Kitchenaid stuff, and a really cute pink t-shirt that says "Word Nerd" in Scrabble tiles.

And then...I got the coolest.gift.ever.

A Sony eBook reader!

Whoohoo!

It's like a Kindle except for better. My husband jokes that it's really a gift for him because he was tired of bringing an extra suitcase for my books (that's not an exaggeration, sadly) on vacation with us. It's really hard to explain how it looks but it's a little smaller than the size of a trade paperback and much thinner. The screen looks pretty much like reading a regular paper page. Easy on the eyes. So cool. And the e-books are cheaper than regular hardbacks or even paperbacks. And I already have fifty books for FREE because Sony has this public domain thing going on, but the upshot is that I have tons of classics like the complete works of Shakespeare, Wuthering Heights, Huckleberry Finn, etc. all loaded on and ready to go. And a big old fat juicy gift certificate in case I want new titles. And the battery will hold a charge for a month! Whoo!

If you're wondering what YOU can get me for my birthday....hmmm.

Ooh, I know. A comment! And if you haven't clicked to follow my blog (and you're not Alison Wonderland or anyone else constitutionally opposed to doing so which is completely okay), maybe you could do that, too. That would be nice!

Merry Birthaversary!

Happy Birthday! Here have a comment and some gift envy. Wow! What a present! How does it differ from the Kindle?

A fine Christmas as well. Merry tomorrow to you all!

Awesome! I'd love an e-reader AND that t-shirt!

So along with Jami--I thought that amazon had exclusives with a lot of books for the Kindle. Is there a lot of variety for the Sony?

Glad you had a great birthday! I hope you're having an excellent Christmas, as well.

(I'm trying to remember how I ended up online on Christmas -- oh, I know, I was going to print a photo of the kids for my mom.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! How sad it'a on Christmas Eve though. But then I guess everyone is feeling festive and you have a guarenteed party!

AWESOME about the book reader.

I'm following you already, right?

I better double check!

Happy birthday!! Mine's next week. But I have to say you have a much better attitude about aging up (we're not getting older are we?) than I do.

Just this,

Wuthering Heights shouldn't be a classic.

I am soooo jealous that I almost cannot leave a comment.

I asked for that for Christmas. What did I get instead? Nothing. Not even coal. Seems like my husband was so terribly busy (what with me having a new baby and all) that he barely made it out on Christmas Eve to purchase items for my stocking. Maybe I'll just go and buy it myself! :)

Hey there, I am new to reading your blog but you pulled me in. I like it a lot. Especially your cool notebook paper, so neat. Anyways I think that Sony book is Awesome and I wish it was mine. Maybe after some hints to my husband I will get it for my birthday.

Wow.. a Sony e-book reader... That must be really cool. Do you know if this thing is available in India? How much did it cost you. I am read a lot and often see people around me complaining about the pile of books I carry. An e-book reader is something I would like to gift myself
