You are SO gonna get it, Charrette

Thank you for all of your comments yesterday. You people are very nice.

I am making a last minute change to my post topic today, because I need to make an announcement.

**************************

CHARRETTE is in A LOT of trouble. She dropped by my blog yesterday and threw out this comment urging me to try candy cane joe joes. And I did. You know what those are? They're the Trader Joe's brand of Oreos but the cookie cream has candy canes crushed in them.

Wanna know what happened?

I ATE THE WHOLE BAG. Almost by myself.

You are so going to get it, Charrette. Maybe next time I'm in Utah, I'll ding-dong-ditch your house and leave five pounds of chocolate covered cinnamon bears on your doorstep.

Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-HA!

I am very susceptible to the power of food suggestion so nobody else better throw out any good ideas.

ooooooh, those ARE good. And you're right, your indulgence is totally her fault.

I'm trying to think of a suggestion of something utterly sinful so I can get you hooked and then you'll leave a five pound bag of chocolate covered cinnamon bears on MY doorstep.

But then it would be pretty stupid for you to just leave them and run. You might as well stay for a chat at least, since you probably wouldn't want to do all 30ish hours of travel right in a row.

seriously all those sound so good. I love oreos and peppermint and chocolate covered anything.

I was craving those fudge shop striped cookies the other night--they make fabulous microwave smores. And, yeah, I ate the whole package pretty much by myself too. I don't know if my kids just have more restraint than I do, or if they're afraid I might bite their arm off if they reach for a cookie too many times. Come to think of it I'm not sure I wouldn't.

So, my blog friend turned real friend actually brought me some of those from Vegas on Friday night. They were gone by Saturday.

And Oreos actually makes their own as well.

Have you tried the peppermint hersey hugs? Don't unless you want to eat a whole bag of those. They are to die for.

That's the second time this week Kristina and I have mind-melded in someones' comments (which is all the more weird since I actually liked TwilightTheMovie (more or less.) What I was going to say would have been that I saw someone talking about those same cookies and was feeling sorry for myself for not living near a Trader Joe's, but then I saw someone else talking about the Oreo version.

Not that I have managed to obtain any yet. But now I know it's within the realm of the possible (without extensive car or airplane travel.)

I really don't get it about chocolate-covered cinnamon bears, though. Sorry. I get it about chocolate, and I get it about cinnamon bears; I just don't see how it could be a good thing for them to have anything to do with each other. (I also don't like chocolate chips in banana bread, nor in granola bars. In case you were wondering.)

My mom's comfort foods. Nummy.... Oh, wait, you don't know my mom, so you can't try her cakes, her cookies, her soups, her Italian dishes.... Na-na-na-na-na! Seriously though, Hostess Donettes, especially the chocolate ones, are AMAZING. In my opinion. Probably not for you. So.... Whatever. I'll shut up now. You're welcome.

maybe I'm glad there are no Trader Joes in Idaho after all! Because Oreos, check. Peppermint, check, check. 5 pounds to re-lose, check, check, check.

Mina, you haven't been paying attention. I have it on very good authority that OREO also makes these. Available nationwide. (Good thing I've already done my grocery shopping this week. Bad thing, I mean.)

best recipe ever. Mix all wonderful baking type stuff you can think of (choc chips, peanut butter chips, marshmellows, coconut (if you're into that), nuts, whitechoc chips) and grahm cracker crust. Spread on the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the whole shebang. bake at 350 for half an hour or so. Try not to eat the entire pan in one sitting.
Good luck with that.

PS I don't like choc covered cinn bears but I am a fan of brownies. And ice cream.

AHhahahaha! HOW did I MISS this?!?

So funny.

But i have to say the candy cane Joe'Joe's are just a cheap substitute for the candy cane cookies my mom used to make me every year for my birthday. Having finished off TWO boxes of Joe-Joe's (with no Trader Joe's in the STATE) I broke down and made the real thing Sunday night, a double batch, and we already inhaled them all!

If you ever come to my house, I'll make sure I have a plate (or several dozen) ready for you....

Still laughing about your funny post! Just what I needed after a week from hell!
