Baby stuff

You want to know what's great about drinking Kool-Aid?

It tastes just like drinking Skittles. And yes, that's a good thing.

Baby is doing well. We had a little setback today; she's developed quite a case of jaundice. She's already on a UV blanket and we're making adjustments. We went through this with Grant two years ago so we're not freaked out. I just hoped we'd dodge this particular bullet this time around. Still and all, she got a blessing and she'll be fine. I got a blessing and I think I'll survive the whole ordeal, too. I'll eventually get more pictures up. Right now, life is a round of diapering and feeding and stolen naps.

I don't know if there is any truth to this whatsoever, but I was told that when a nursing mother drinks root beer it helps get the Bilirubin under control. Just one a day until they are past it. I dunno if it is true. I know that I did it when Little Princess was borderline and things calmed down. And my sister swears it helped her.

Anyhow random thought.

I'm glad everyone is doing well.

Oh the sweetness of those stolen naps! Glad she's okay but sorry for the extra stress. Goodness, Claira is only four months old but those first days and weeks already seem so long ago!

Mmmmm... I would love a reason to drink root beer everyday. Hope baby Eden gets over it quickly...

Have I told you how much I LOVE her name? I really do.

You know that thing where they tell you to put the diapered (but otherwise naked) baby on a blanket in the sun spot on the floor and let the sunlight kill all those jaundice thingies? You can always snuggle up beside her for one of those stolen naps.

Be well and enjoy this time!

(I shall now go and enjoy the pictures you have posted!)

Oh my gosh! Both of my kids got juandice. I think ALL of my kids will get it. I HATE it! Except, they don't give me a bili blanket. Nope, I get the whole tanning bed. Great. I love bringing a hospital thing home with me. I guess I should just be grateful I get to bring my babies home. Sigh.

Yes, steal those naps and newborn snuggles!

When I had my third baby, no one told me about the Bili blanket so we were stuck with the Bili bed, or the infant torture chamber. And who knows? Maybe drinking liquid Skittles will help, too.

GAAAA!!! I have ONE busy week where I don't do any blog reading, and YOU go and HAVE YOUR BABY!!!

I am so happy for you I can hardly CONTAIN myself!! She's beautiful, Mel. Absolutely gorgeous! And that hair...oh, that beautiful, feathery hair. How I'd love to feel it under my chin and know it wasn't attached to it!

I'm e-mailing you right now. YAY!

...and thank you, darling Melanie, for sparing me the graphic details. Having had four C-sections, I'm kind of a 'labor and delivery' virgin! (hmmm...that doesn't sound right...)

Jaundice sucks rocks but I'm glad you know what to do and you've both had blessings. Drink up the skittles and take care!

I'm suddenly craving cherry kool-aid...

Glad baby Eden is doing well. Hopefully that whole jaundice thing will flee quickly.

OMGOSH! That was brilliant, the whole Kool-Aid slash Skittles thing.

Awesome.

I'm guessing you had your baby?

CONGRATULATIONS! And HUGE HUGS!
