File under: Miscellaneous

Wanna know what I should be doing today?

Baking all day (fudge, toffee, and eggnog loaves) to make stuff for my husband to give as gifts at work tomorrow. Then wrapping presents for my oldest son's Christmas with our side of the family tonight because he leaves on Saturday for his dad's (Hi, Nancy!). That's wrapping his presents from us (a Wii, because I wanted one but what he doesn't know about how I spend my day won't hurt him) and his presents for his cousins.

But I'm not doing any of that. Know what I'm doing instead? I'm going to pick up my brother's girlfriend and we're going to try to get into a taping of Ellen and win a bunch of stuff.

Something is wrong with me.

I'll wave to you from Ellen.

Ellen's great. So is fudge, but chores aren't proud. They're always waiting for you when you return. Have fun. I hope you get lots of free stuff.

I think that's a perfect escape from all the holiday hubbub. I wish i could join you! My list seems to be GROWING rather than shrinking every day, even though I swear I'm running myself ragged trying to check stuff off. Yeah, Ellen would be the perfect fix. You go, girl!

I would be SOOOO jealous if you get in! How fun. This is what life is all about--impromptu random attempts at cool experiences while forgoing responsibility. You rock.

Yeah sometimes emergencies come up and you have to change your plans. We all understand that.

I hope you win something awesome!

How fun! There is nothing wrong with you! Something would be wrong if you chose chores over doing something fun!

Oh good heavens. If it weren't for blessed distraction, we'd never get anything memorable done.

Win something good for me. (Did you get in?)

What is eggnog bread? Love eggnog. Love bread. Sounds like something I need to investigate.

Shirking the Christmas baking for a chance to get free cool stuff? Absolutely allowed. :)
