Merry Birthaversary

December is the best month EVER. Next week is the best week of December.

Check it: Monday is my wedding anniversary. Wednesday is my birthday. Thursday is Christmas. And like Kramer with Festivus, we observe our own special holiday next week. It's a mashup of all three occasions which results in Merry Birthaversary. There's even a song. It goes:

Merry Birthaversary,
Merry Birthaversary,
Merry Birthaversary,
To me, to me!

Then you sing that two more times. The tune is vaguely like "A Very Merry Un-Birthday" from Alice in Wonderland.

And then also you do a dance that's kind of jig-like. I've kind of been jigging all over the place in excitement because I can't wait until Merry Birthaversary! Woot!

Oh! Merry Birthaversary to you!! We have our anniversary on Saturday, and Christmas on Thursday, but no birthday to be seen!

Merry Birthaversary, Melanie!! How wonderful that your husband can get all of his shopping done for you in one shot. I hope you have lots of opportunities to get all hopped up on sugar, 'cause that'll make your jig dancing way awesome. In fact, I think I'll go eat some chocolate for you right now.

Nice Seinfeld reference. I swear that show relates to EVERY situation. That's the genius of it.

Awesome! I'm a Chrismastime baby myself (came home from the hospital in a stocking, reports say).

(I'm like Mina--always happy to see a Seinfeld reference. "It's a Festivus miracle!")

Merry Birhaversary--I expect a video with the jig in full display :-)

I love made up words. I have a former friend (long story) who was SO BITTER about her birthday being close to Christmas. She loved to remind us every year that one gift wasn't going to cut it, which we didn't do anyway. One of many reasons we are frenemies.

Happy birthaversary!

I should have known something was up since I've been hearing the "Merry Birthaversary" song since last night ;)

It's such a great time I think we should do it twice and just cut out the first week of January.

I misread and thought you wrote jiggling which is what would happen if *I* were jigging at my house. But very merry birthaversary. Loved your idea you commented on at my blog today too.

So sorry I missed your birthiversary! I must have been caught up in my own enormous stress heap. I have a December anniversary too,and next weekend is my Birthday Weekend (not unlike your merry birthiversary festivus)because it's Martin Luther King day, and a 3- or 4-day weekend every year for my birthday. I LOVE it!
