I'm a giver and a taker.

I don't want to make anyone jealous or anything, but. . .

M-kay, no, I do.

Yesterday I ate breakfast with Charrette, saw Kimberly from Temporary Insanity and Eowyn from Refracted Light at dinner, and this morning I hugged Annette Lyon, Josi Kilpack, Julie Wright, Stephanie Black, Tristi Pinkston, and Lexicon Lover (L.T.).

Just so you know.

Yes, I'm totally jealous. Sometimes I wish I could twinkle my nose like Samantha on Bewitched (or apparate like Harry Potter) and be at all of the cool meet & greets.

Um.... HELLO. I think you forgot the MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE DAY.

(It was the highlight of mine, anyway :>)

And *I* got to read some of Melanie's brilliant and funny writing.

You are very unkind. Okay, fine. Actually I'm just happy for you. And them. It really is party central over there, isn't it? Keep having fun!

Is this the writers' event thingy? Not being a writer is *always* getting in the way of my getting to hang out with writers, dang it. I might have to pretend to be writing a book just to join the party.

(To clarify: by "not a writer" I mean "At this point in time, lacking in any ambition whatsoever to produce specific written works for recreation or profit." If you define writer as "Maintains a blog and posts lots of too-long comments on others blogs, with the carpal-tunnel-syndrome to prove it," then, yes, I am a writer.)

I loved hugging you too! And everyone should just be aware right now that Melanie J. is the fashion queen. She owned that place! Her shoes...FANTASTIC!!! That wonderful detail aside, she is just stunning, people. Beautiful hair, eyes, face. Just stunning.

But Melanie, your outside beauty is a complete reflection of your inner beauty. You are so kind, funny, and warm. It was a pleasure to meet you. Thank you so much for your friendliness. I'm so glad to have met you in person. Please take care. =]

Ditto EVERY SINGLE WORD my friend LT just stole right out of my head and wrote in the comment box before I could get over here! Melanie was so lovely, from the tip of her toes to the top of her statuesque head. And I have to write a retraction on my last post because I didn't expect to feel any MORE bonded for having met her in person, but I have to admit that spending time one-on-one topped the charts. Love, people. Love.

Um, yeah, ditto to Charette and LT Elliot. They didn't leave me much to say.

Although the fact that I didn't get to meet LT makes me quite sad. Next year I'm actually going to the conference.

It was a very happy weekend.
