Woot! Girls are awesome - at least from a daddy's point of view. (I think my wife likes our daughters, too.)
And as for clothes shopping, the best part about girls is they can get away with stuff from both sides of the aisle. My youngest wears Spiderman shirts and Hannah Montana shoes, and loves them both.
I've heard girls are easier the first ten years and boys are easier the next ten. We're just starting the second decade around here, so I may need to change my tune, but for now - hooray for little girls!
Girl power! I love girls. They cry a lot, even after they learn to talk. Or maybe that's just my girls. Also, everything is precious. Good luck throwing anything away. But let me tell you how fun it is to hear teenage girls say "My mom writes really funny books" to her friends when she thinks you're not listening!
I know people are scared of girls and drama, but I'd rather deal with a hormone-raged teenage girl who wants to cry than a hormone-raged teenage boy who wants s e x .
Seriously.
This is great! I hope there's enough "first girl" dust left for That Girl!
You're having a GIRL-------so exciting. I have 4 sons and only 1 daughter. I LOVE my sons, but there is something about having a little girl. You've heard the old adage "A son is a son until he takes him a wife, but a daughters you daughter all of her life" She promised she'd change my diapers when I get old. When????
Funny how your hubby wishes he were a black man. What is it about that race that can wear ANYTHING and pull it off. And their gospel music-------gotta love it.
Oh, Charrette! Why did you have to end with Woo Hoo! ? I was going to start with Woo Hoo!
You'll be great with a girl, Melanie! And I'm sure your boys will treat her like a princess (ha ha. Pretty sure you're not looking to raise a princess anyway, are you?) This will all make for SUCH great blog posts, I can see it now!
You know, I should probably congratulate you (congrats!) and tell you how much fun girls are (which they are, in a completely different way than boys) and how great this will be (it will).
But you should also know that the drama factor in your life is about to increase ten-fold. Or more.

You'll love it! Just think of all the cute clothes you are going to be able to get her!
Although changing the diaper is going to be a whole new experience. . .
Congratulations!!!
Congrats! I think I would be freaked out too. Boys just seem easier.
I'm about to have our third. Let me know if you have any questions. =P
Happy for you!

You're going to love it so, so much. I'm so excited for you!
PINK all around!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I don't have a girl of my own by my niece is the apple of my eye. You'll love it! CONGRATULATIONS!
Yay! You'll have fun, and so will the boys in the family. Girls are great (and I'm not just saying that because I am one or anything...)
Congratulations!!
Perhaps you can compare pregnancies to see if having a girl is easier. Of course I'm no expert being a guy… just hoping the best for you.
After two boys, I didn't think I wanted a girl. But she has been SO fun. I was surprised how much I liked having a girl.
Yay! Pink. Girls are so much fun.

If you can get through age 12 without throwing her to the wolves, she might even grow up to be 14 and your very best friend.

Girls rock. Really. Despite all of the extra emotion, they are wonderful! Bring on the pink!
Congratulations!
(And I would feel the same way if I were ever to have a boy!)
and they don't pee on you, the changing table or the wall when you change their diapers!!
Wow, super-excited - I have some really cute flannel for a faux nana blanket for a GIRL!!!
Nancy is a really nice name...jic

I hate to say I told you so, but... ha!
Really, really, really happy for you.
No, really. :)
So exciting! Hearty congratulations. Girls aren't more difficult, just different.
Congrats Melanie!
I liked Luisa's message.. having 2 girls and then a boy.. I think personality and birth order makes a difference- not what gender they are..
My girls are insane. Lunatics. Completely, hormonally certifiable.
And I love them dearly!!
Congratulations!
Such wonderful news!
Everyone says boys are easier...but I disagree.
Our daughter was infinitely more patient, less demanding. And more cooperative, easily entertained.
Besides, who are you going to bequeath all your shoes to?
WoooHooo!

You are out of the boys only club, but I am thrilled for you!
Yay!!! I love my girl... so glad I have her. You'll do great!!

YEAH! Girls are so fun!
CONGRATS!!!!=) Girls are so much fun!
Congrats! We had two boys, and I was all set for another, so of course we had a girl next. It's been way fun, and you'll love it, too, I bet.
Congrats (I think)! Kids are a kick in the pants. :)
When you've stopped hyperventilating, check out a blog post I wrote awhile back entitled, "What no parenting book will ever tell you."
